During March 17-18, 2023, the CSR team of AMATA organized the ECO Green Network Activity by bringing more than 60 community representatives to visit AMATA City Chonburi industrial estate, Paknum Prasae sub-district in Rayong province and the Rayong Botanical Garden.
During the visit to AMATA, the group was lectured about environmental and circular economy initiatives that AMATA has implemented for the sustainable management of its industrial cities, such as water and wastewater management with a hundred per cent wastewater reuse through recycling and reclamation. The group also visited the water storage reservoirs where AMATA deployed floating solar panels to power equipment.
Paknum Praksae is a popular tourist destination where the Prasae river flows into the sea. There is a 2.7km walkway through rich and old mangrove forests. The Rayong Botanical Garden is an affiliate garden of The Queen Sirikit Botanic Garden by the Botanical Garden Organization, which is an entity under the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment.
Through off-site study, the group learnt about the establishment and management of sustainable community projects in combination of local community produces, promotion of eco-tourism and environmental management, to serve as a model for the development of local communities within the surroundings of AMATA industrial estates.
